Pre-drywall inspection

Well, once again, time has flown and I have no idea where it went.

Once the roof was done, the hvac went in, followed by plumbing. Plumbing should have finished on 6/29, and electrical should have started.

On Thursday, June 29, I had my pre-drywall inspection. It went well. I verified all the locations for my extra outlets and ceiling fan rough ins. I also met with guardian to verify data and cable drops, as well as the location of my media enclosure in the basement. Additionally, also had a professional inspection done to the tune of $450. Fortunately, he didn’t find a whole lot. Some minor wrap repairs that need to happen, and some staples/nails improperly done. Should be easy fixes.

Should be putting up drywall week after next!

Hmm.. I need to create a timeline for all this stuff.

Things to remember – Pre drywall edition

A couple random thoughts here:

  1. Remember to discuss the location of the electrical panel during the pre-dry wall inspection. The houses I’ve toured thus far seem to have had random locations selected. And not good ones.
  2. Do a video walkthrough during pre-drywall. It will be a big help later on remembering what things look like where once the walls are up. Think installing curtains etc. I took lots of digital pics during the last house build, but never went back and detailed the location of the pic, so they were useless in the end.

Digging has begun!

OK, yesterday weather wise was a bust, so I ran over by the house on 5/31 to see if any progress had begun. I was told during the pre-construction meeting that the start date would be 5/30/17. It was very muddy, so i only took a few pics from the street, but progress has begun!

Running behind!

I wanted to start this site as soon as i decided to build this house, but so much is happening so quickly, I just never made the time. Things that have already occurred:

  1. Lot selection
  2. Model selection
  3. Options selected
  4. Pre-construction meeting
  5. Mortgage things, multiple lenders

That’s what I can think of this morning.

My Ryan Homes Venice…

Just a spot to house all the info I gather and random mental notes I don’t want to forget during this ride of building a Ryan Homes Venice model house.

Hang on tight, should be a fun ride!
